The Resurrection Project (TRP) was founded in 1990 by six Catholic parishes to revitalize Pilsen—one of Chicago’s most distressed communities at the time. Today, TRP takes a holistic approach to creating healthy communities by: • Developing and managing quality affordable housing and community centers; • Providing free financial education and counseling services to help families build wealth, buy homes, and ultimately achieve financial independence; and
• Empowering the community through a variety of organizing initiatives and educational programs. TRP, which began with $30,000 in seed capital from its area parishes, has leveraged more than $346 million in community investments to empower more than 38,000 families, develop more than 600 affordable homes, and develop more than 180,000 sq. ft. of commercial real estate. Mission statement: To build relationships and challenge people to act on their faith and values to create healthy communities through organizing, education, and community development.
