Pro Kids, First Tee - San Diego

Pro Kids | The First Tee of San Diego's mission is to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf. We empower kids to excel in school, develop successful careers, and become leaders in our community. We use the game of golf to reach these goals Founded by former AFL/NFL player Ernest H. Wright, Sr.. Pro Kids was incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 1994. That year, Pro Kids partnered with the City of San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District to use Colina Park Golf Course to teach life skills and golf to inner-city kids. In 1997, Pro Kids served as one of the models for The First Tee, an international organization dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds as opportunity to develop life-enhancing values. Pro Kids has been a charter member of The First Tee since 1998.
