The 'Turning Point' is the foundation of each roast. It's the launch pad where we decide the direction of the coffee.
When opened Turning Point Coffee Roasters in 2018, it also marked a 'turning point' in our careers: from the wine industry to small business owners in the coffee industry.
Initially, roasting coffee was a hobby that started with a one-pound bag of green coffee toasted in a popcorn popper. Soon, there was a commercial coffee roaster in our garage, and eventually, a full-scale roastery, cafe, and third-wave coffee community in Southern Connecticut was born.
Through those early trials, we developed a philosophy inspired by our previous careers. We aim to roaster coffee like the best wines are made, by sourcing the highest quality ingredients and doing as little as possible so their character can shine. As with wine, we explore new varieties, find different single origins and look for the character that makes coffees unique to the farm they came from: terroir.
We hope to provide a Turning Point in how you drink, enjoy and appreciate your coffee!
