Information
The Ned originated in the former Midland Bank headquarters, designed by Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens in 1924. When Nick Jones, the founder of Soho House & Co, first saw the disused building in 2012, he fell in love. 'The property had been empty for nearly eight years but there was something about it – the details and scale of it – that just floored me,' Jones explains. The moment he left, he called Ron Burkle. 'Ron came to view the building and straight away we began to imagine how the project would take form,' says Jones. Jones was immediately inspired by Lutyens' masterpiece at 27 Poultry – all 29,450 square metres of it. 'It was the most beautiful building I'd ever seen,' says Jones. ‘The City is as busy as Soho and much better looking; it's the capital's engine room for commerce but also has more than its fair share of culture for one square mile.’ Today, The Ned London has 250 bedrooms, 10 restaurants, 17 bars, a range of men’s and women’s grooming services and Ned’s Club, where members have access to a rooftop pool, a state-of-the-art gym, spa, hammam and late night lounge bar created in the bank’s original vault. The Ned is expanding internationally to include The Ned NoMad New York and The Ned Doha, with more to come. We may be in different locations across the world, but our Ned spirit is the same, and as part of Soho House & Co Inc., a global membership platform of physical and digital spaces, we connect a vibrant, diverse and global group of members. These members use the Soho House & Co platform to work, socialise, connect, create and flourish all over the world. Working at The Ned means having some of the best reward packages in the business, an inclusive workplace with a lot of fun, amazing teammates and endless opportunities to grow your career in hospitality. Our aim is to ensure our guests, members, customers and team members all have an amazing time - and we know that it’s our people who make that happen. Come join us. #lovethened
