The Grace Museum

Mission Statement: The Grace Museum builds connections through new experiences in art, science and history within the evolving Texas story through its exhibitions, programs and collections. The Grace Museum houses a robust permanent art collection, five art galleries featuring world-class exhibitions; an Abilene history collection, an ever-popular children's museum, an education center and an art history research library. The museum was organized in the 1937 as the Abilene Fine Arts Museum. In 1992, the museum moved to the renovated 1909 Hotel Grace building and was renamed The Grace Museum. Today, the 55,000-square-foot building is the tenth largest general museum in Texas, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the heart of Abilene's beautifully restored downtown Cultural District, The Grace is a hub for arts and education in the region.
