Telluride Daily Planet

The Telluride Daily Planet is the independently-owned, award-winning newspaper serving Telluride and the greater region. The history of the Daily Planet dates to 1898 when the newspaper was founded as the Telluride Times. The Daily Planet publishes on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and is distributed throughout Telluride, Mountain Village, Ridgway, Norwood, Rico and other areas of San Miguel and Ouray counties. Reaching more than 30,000 readers each week in print and online, the Daily Planet is the area's leading source of news and advertising information for local residents, as well as visitors. The Planet has grown and thrived in the unique, small-town resort environment of Telluride, Colo, even while newspapers in big cities have been challenged by the changing media landscape. In 2011 the Daily Planet earned a record number of journalism awards from the Colorado Press Association - including Best News Reporting, and Best Layout and Design.
