Dabbling and collecting hot sauce began as just a casual hobby for co-founders Carl and Mayra. With their love for all-things spicy, and Carl’s Panamanian roots, the duo’s fascination with hot sauce inspired them to one day create their own. This idea spawned when they took a trip to Panama City and discovered a traditional style hot sauce at a local restaurant. Thrilled with what they stumbled upon, they managed to bring back twenty bottles to the U.S. But once the supply diminished, Carl was yearning for more. He began to reap a variety of peppers before deciding the time was right for experimenting. After several moments of trial and error, tossing new ingredients in the cauldron, and looking like mad scientists in the kitchen, it became official: Sway Sauce was born. The sauce that was made, OG Habanero, is inspired by Panamanian hot sauce tradition yet is also unique to their own creation. The trademark golden ambrosia brightens up any dish and adds flavor intensity to your favorite foods, a testament that proves both Carl and Mayra know exactly how to appease the complex taste buds of all you chili-heads. After a few years of producing these sauces as a hobby, Carl and Mayra decided it was time to pursue this venture full time. The two decided on a startup strategy and partnered up with their good friend, David. David, not only brings a passion for heat in his sauce, but also has experience building a brand through past ventures as a touring musician. Together, the 3, began their journey of providing their vision of the perfect sauce in March of 2020.
