Spokane Mortgage Lenders Association was established in 1988 to provide a channel for information sharing, charitable giving, and scholarship funding. SMLA is in association with Washington Mortgage Bankers Association (WMBA). Our membership extends beyond the mortgage industry as we are all connected in our desire to promote mortgage industry business in Spokane, Washington. Our members are dedicated to the growth of the mortgage industry and partner development. SMLA members meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month for a cocktail reception followed by dinner and a speaker. Meetings provide an opportunity to network, share ideas, and hear from distinguished speakers. Topics vary, from Lender and Real Estate Education, Community Outreach, Spokane Economics & Development, Business Growth & Development, to Government Affairs, and Coaching/Motivation. SMLA is very committed to our community. Each year we host a Golf Tournament from which proceeds are donated to Casa Partners. CASA Partners (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is dedicated to supporting the local CASA Program and enhancing the lives of abused and neglected children currently in the foster care system in Spokane Country, and those children who are at risk of entering the system. SMLA also sponsors an annual Christmas Party in December which provides a lot of entertainment, prizes and cheer to celebrate the year. It is the perfect way to give back to our members.
