Small Green Shoots is a unique charity led by young people from disadvantaged areas. Specialising in arts and music activities Small Green Shoots provides “real world” work experience and training opportunities for diverse young people wanting to work in the creative industries. Supported by the Arts Council, Performing Rights Society Foundation, Comic Relief and several other funders, we develop projects that engage other NEET young people from deprived communities in London, the South East and the Midlands.
The successful “Young Shoots” programme developed in 2014 has provided jobs and placements at companies such as Virgin Records, Sony ATV and The Royal Court Theatre. Our Young Shoots also develop projects that benefit other young creatives and emerging artists. In 2017, Small Green Shoots raised £389,000 for external organisations and artists developing careers and providing valuable first-time artistic and learning opportunities for hundreds of diverse young people.
Board Members: Sam Kidby, Diane Morgan, Eunice Obianagha, Louise Thomas, Gary Mandel, Ellis Rich
