Purdue University, Office of Supplier Diversity Development (OSDD) Our Mission: Provide leadership and develop relationships that will result in Purdue's supplier base reflecting the diverse business profile of its region. Vision Statement: Purdue University is a recognized national leader in developing a diverse supplier base. All staff involved with purchasing and contracting will be knowledgeable of the importance of supplier diversity in their daily activities. Diverse suppliers will understand the procurement process and will have timely access to all necessary procurement and contracting information. Objectives: 1. Develop and enhance opportunities for the diverse business community 2. Educate and sensitize Purdue University staff to the importance of sourcing from qualified diverse businesses 3. Implement an aggressive outreach program 4. Celebrate diversity by recognizing successes in supplier diversity Services: The success of the Office of Supplier Diversity depends on identifying qualified suppliers, and ensuring that those suppliers have the opportunity to compete. To that end the OSD provides centralized services for the diverse business community of Indiana including: • Consultation on becoming a Purdue vendor • Liaise with external business owners and Purdue departments seeking goods and services • Connections to resources and organizations that assist entrepreneurs with business development • Ongoing communication with the diverse business community • Outreach to advocacy organizations Opinions expressed on this site may not represent the official views of Purdue University.
