The Platypus Systematic Growth Fund is a low cost fund that uses a systematic approach based on academic research and market intuition to tilt towards stocks with high quality momentum. The result is a dynamically managed diversified portfolio that creates better risk-adjusted returns than the market as a whole. The Platypus Socially Aware Fund seeks to deliver consistent, low tracking error excess returns while helping make our world a better place. It is one of the country’s first systematic Australian equity funds with tried and tested ESG factors that generate alpha and an ambitious and public engagement agenda to drive change across its holdings. Our capability also involves flexible screening – institutional clients are able to choose sectors or stocks they would like screened out on ethical or ESG grounds (risk and return outcomes may be impacted). It typically holds 130-160 companies in the ASX300. The Platypus Absolute Return Fund (the Fund) applies in equal parts a high conviction long strategy and an active systematic short strategy. The Fund is designed to perform at its best when the market is stressed, and its defensive nature makes it a complementary addition to a portfolio. The Fund maintains a concentrated portfolio of long holdings (25-40) and a diversified portfolio of shorts (20-30).
