Petra’s Story Living Out a Promise. “I am coming back for you!” “...when I grow up, I will come for all of you, Amen…” were words promised daily by a young, orphaned girl in Uganda. In 2009, those impassioned, never forgotten, words of Petra Otee Mangesho, became the driving force behind the founding of Petra Kids Ministries, a 501-c (3) organization in the USA. Today, those words continue to work to restore hope and build dreams for over 400 children in Aduku, Uganda. Our Vision Is to ensure that the children, especially impoverished and orphaned children of Aduku & Uganda, are given the chance to grow and learn in a Christian environment that empowers them to break the bonds of poverty that have plagued them. Our mission is to develop the children socially, spiritually, physically, and intellectually grounded on Biblical principles. In order to accomplish these goals, Petra Christian School strives to equip each child with the tools to allow them to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially in the world in which they live, as well as the greater world community they hope to become a part of. Equip Equipping and developing students to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially in the world in which they live. Provide Providing adequate resources, training and mentoring services necessary to further equip an effective volunteer, staff and ministering to the young. Establish Establishing, maintaining, promoting, Biblically based Christian schools to educate and instruct the young in the U.S. and other locations. The PKM Board MISSION: The PKM Board promotes, supports, and enhances the vision and mission of PKM and seeks opportunities to grow and sustain the ministry.
