Recreation and Wellness is about allowing the Modern Mind to thrive in a charged atmosphere, where life overflows with activity, sport and movement of all kinds. Fitness, wellness, adventure, sport club and intramural programs whatever moves you, you can find it here. Recreation and Wellness offers programs, facilities and services for students, faculty and staff to promote healthy and active lifestyles. The Department of Recreation and Wellness offers programs, facilities, and services for ODU students, faculty, and staff, retirees, alumni and the community. Aquatics, Fitness & Wellness, Outdoor Adventure, Intramural Sports, and Sport Clubs programming help to provide members with diverse recreation opportunities. The department also offers online experiences that serve all ODU students, including on campus and distance learners, through programs such as Ask a Dietitian. Our Student Recreation Center and University Fitness Center are accessible to all currently enrolled students at no additional charge. In addition to the physical benefits, research states that your participation in recreation has a positive impact on academic performance and social skills.
