The Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum is located at the birthplace and childhood home of Liberty Hyde Bailey, the great horticulturist, agrarian philosopher, agricultural reformer, and author from South Haven, Michigan, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are a museum, educational outreach center, and culture hub. We host programs geared toward outdoor learning, gardening and horticulture, sustainable agriculture, and the life and legacy of Liberty Hyde Bailey.
We are a small, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization always seeking new ways to serve our unique community. Our nonprofit's full title is Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum Memorial Fund, Inc. We do not hire employees, but the City of South Haven provides staff support including a Museum Director who serves as Executive Director of the nonprofit. We have many opportunities for volunteering, whether in our living collections gardens, through our children's outdoor learning programs, or as a "Bailey Sitter" greeter -- and there are many other possibilities to explore under "Get Involved" on our website, www.libertyhydebailey.org.
We also offer a variety of internship opportunities, which you can also explore on our website, under "About."
Thank you for your interest in the Bailey Museum and in the legacy of one of the past century's great thinkers and leaders, Liberty Hyde Bailey.
