Kazaa has officially cut ties with its p2p past and has become a completely legal music service. Now working in partnership with record labels and artists, the new Kazaa (us) operates as a subscription-based digital music service offering users unlimited access to over a million song downloads and ringtones by a wide array of artists from countless genres and is quickly establishing itself as a major player in the online music business. In addition to its position as a legal source of music downloads, Kazaa is currently moving to incorporate additional social elements into the redesign, including features which encourage music fans to interact with one another, create and share playlists, enter music-related contests, interact with the website’s music blog, etc.
