Owners Ashton & Paul Lovato are bringin' a little bit 'o the country into the DFW Metroplex. They serve up their finger-licking, slow-smoked 'que at the original shack 5460 E FM 1187 in Rendon and Shack #2 at 2502 Little Road in their hometown of Arlington.
This isn’t a rush-it-on-and-off-the-smoker kind of place. Using pecan wood, brisket and pulled pork are slow-smoked for around 16 hours. Ribs are smoked between 3-4 hours. Their patience produces tender, juicy meat with a subtle smoked flavor.
If you’re feeling adventurous (and extremely hungry), there are a couple of menu items you’ll want to try:
The Sadie – A giant baked potato stuffed with butter, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Topped with chopped brisket, sausage and onions then smothered with beans. ($8)
The Jambo Texan – Brisket, bologna, pulled pork, sausage and ribs piled between two slices of Texas Toast. ($15)
