Our Mission: To promote the news media's role in providing information necessary to inform our communities that we serve. To encourage innovation and celebrate creativity in our media organization. To provide awareness of the First Amendment and the role of the press in today's society. How we will accomplish this task: 1. Promote the value of a free press to democracy. 2. Defend and expand public access to government records 3. Influence government policies and engage in legal advocacy to protect open government, and free speech. 4. Provide leadership that fosters collaboration and an overall cooperative spirit among community leaders. We will strive to bring together community members formally and informally to exchange ideas and act effectively to share concerns and address issues. 5. Work to always provide our readers the best possible products with respect to editorial excellence, as well as the effective use of technology in developing any new media streams that will allow for easier access to our array of products. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of quality to better serve our communities; and to preserve our history with core journalistic values, while embracing the many changing tides of media development.
