We make affordable plant-based candles that are free of petroleum-based paraffin, and partner with the Orangutan Land Trust, WildAsia.org, and smallholder farmers as we try to make sustainable palm the industry norm, while helping protect rainforests and the endangered wildlife and communities that calls these forests home.
In 2010, there were very few natural candle companies in the mainstream market, and even fewer resources to understand what was in the paraffin candles we chose to dine by, celebrate alongside, and set the ambiance with. We saw an opportunity to play our part in supporting the health and well-being of an entire system, from our planet to our people, in a single, everyday, timeless product: the candle.
We wanted the concept “candle with a cause” to encompass more than our candle wax, beginning with preserving our rainforests and their fragile ecosystems.
With our inception came membership within the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, an organization that helped pioneer the sustainable palm movement. Through our membership and involvement with the RSPO, we have teamed up with the not-for-profit organization Wild Asia, a social enterprise working to promote sustainable palm oil production among smallholder farmers. We pay them a premium for their sustainable harvests, improving their livelihoods and incentivizing the shift towards sustainability.
•All our candles are paraffin-free and made with 100% non-GMO plant-based palm wax.
•Our scented candles are made with blends of pure essential and botanical oils, extracted from plants.
•Our candles are all plant-based and contain no phthalates, synthetic fragrances, or chemicals.
•We only use pure cotton wicks containing no lead filaments (or any other filaments, for that matter).
•We are plastic-free. We use recycled & recyclable paper for our packaging, recyclable aluminum tea light cups, as well as plant-based inks & films on our packaging. Our wax is compostable, too!
