Fusing Ideas Glass is owned and run by glass artist maker Jill Bagnall, and is based at her studio on the edge of the Shropshire Hills close to the border. William Morris’s maxim; “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” underpins Fusing Ideas Glass and Jill has made it her ‘mission’ to create visual, tactile studio glass that is both usable and stylish or ‘fabulously functional’! Jill is inspired by colour, especially that of the glass, her media, and pieces by her are often in striking colour combinations. Jill comments "glass has the extraordinary and almost unique ability to reflect, refract and transmit light and maybe that explains our enduring love affair with it?" As a maker of individual hand made glass, Jill is delighted to custom make; picking up a favourite colour and/or theme to co-ordinate with your décor, or for truly unique gift for a significant birthday, an anniversary or wedding, or for a special thank you. Jill also runs glass fusing workshops for beginners and intermediates, details can be found on the Fusing Ideas website. Jill is an active member of both Shropshire & Worcestershire Guilds of Contemporary Craft and exhibits regularly with both. Also at 'Gorgeous' the annual Christmas Contemporary Craft and Food Show in Ironbridge. She is also a member of Shropshire Visual Arts Network and the Contemporary Class Society.
