This is supported through our vision for a collaborative future by offering the latest in payments improvement news and perspectives. A payment system that is fast, safe, efficient and broadly accessible is vital to the U.S. economy. As the central bank, we have a long history and vested interest in maintaining a strong, resilient and well-functioning payment system. We perform various roles to serve that interest, including payment system service provider, leader/catalyst, regulator and supervisor. FedPayments Improvement efforts focus on our roles of leader/catalyst and service provider. In collaboration with the payments industry, we are working toward the shared desired outcomes of fast, secure and efficient payments.
