Description
Information
East County Fire & Rescue was formed on May 16, 2006 when Clark County Fire District #1 merged into Clark County Fire District #9. District #9 then petitioned the Board of County Commissioners to officially change the agency's name to better reflect the Service Area. A five member Board of Commissioners administers East County Fire & Rescue. The board meets twice each month, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 PM at Station 91, 600 NE 267th Avenue. Commissioner meetings are open to the public. The District is primarily volunteer and provides Fire Protection, Emergency Medical Response, Rope Rescue, Water Rescue, and Public Service Assistance to the unincorporated areas north and east of the cities of Camas and Washougal. Approximately 35 Paid and Volunteer Fire Fighters, EMS Responders and Emergency Response Team Members respond to 900+ calls per year from our five fire stations: Fern Prairie, Livingston Mountain, Mt. Norway, Orchard Hills and Sunnyside. Fern Prairie Station 91 and Mt. Norway Station 94 are staffed 24/7. East County Fire & Rescue operates with a combined fleet of 17 apparatus and support vehicles.
