Earthrise Space Foundation

Earthrise Space Foundation (ESF) is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to developing space technology in collaboration with industry and academic institutions. ESF efforts involve professionals from the aerospace industry working with aspiring engineers through challenging ventures, providing them with hands-on experience to prepare them for future employment in the entrepreneurial space industry. Our goal, as primarily an educational 501(c)(3) non-profit, is to: • Provide students and young professionals opportunities to gain hands on experience designing, building, testing and flying real spacecraft and spacecraft systems. o Many students are losing interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Most often, this is can be traced to a lack of opportunities for them to work with cutting edge technologies and for them to discover solutions to practical, real world science problems. ESF has established, and is operating a facility where tools, equipment and materials are provided for the design and construction of spacecraft intended to further the exploration of our known universe. These resources, along with critical guidance, are provided to students and young professionals so as to allow them to execute space hardware projects, while sparking their interest in STEM disciplines. Our long-term goals are to: • Improve the competitiveness of US aerospace students while furthering basic space science and space systems engineering development. o ESF intends to partner with entities in the space industry and various research institutions in order to integrate spacecraft development platforms with various experiments that will be sent to different celestial bodies. o Throughout these efforts, students and young professionals will be engaged to perform the vast majority of the actual work involved, thus providing them critical experience and furthering the company’s exempt purposes.
