During a dry eye examination at our eye care center in Birmingham, we will recommend dry eye treatments tailored to treat your symptoms and provide lasting relief. For a pediatric eye exam, in addition to basic visual acuity (distance and near vision, or refractive errors) the exam will assess the following visual skills that are required for learning and mobility: binocular vision, focusing, peripheral vision, color vision, hand-eye coordination and tracking. The doctor will also evaluate overall eye health and need for glasses. Our doctors are also equipped to detect and manage medical diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and more. We are comfortable fitting difficult contact lenses including scleral lenses for Keratoconus and other corneal dystrophies/degenerations. Our practice also offers select services including Lipiflow and IPL treatment for dry eye. We feature a full service optical with brands including Oliver Peoples, Ray Ban, Costa and more.
