Who We Are: Community Warehouse is the only nonprofit furniture bank in the greater Portland, OR area that collects and redistributes donated household furnishings to neighbors in need. _____________________ How We Help People: The idea of Community Warehouse is a simple yet powerful one: household goods you no longer need can help create a home for someone else in your community. Although furniture is our currency, what we really provide is health, happiness, and housing stability for thousands of neighbors in need annually. Our services impact social cohesion (clients feel cared about and supported by the community), sleep (we are the only agency in the region redistributing beds), food security (we provide kitchenware so clients can cook healthy meals), housing retention, stress relief, and financial prosperity (once we stabilize a family in their home, they can focus their resources on education, food, employment, or rehabilitation). _____________________ Who We Help: Through two Warehouse locations and partnerships with 200 social service agencies, public schools, and faith communities, the Warehouse helps 50 families every week turn their empty housing into more comfortable, functional homes.
