Carolina Conexiones

Carolina Conexiones is a volunteer program that reduces barriers to health care for Spanish-speaking patients and families visiting NC Children’s Hospital. Carolina Conexiones focuses on bilingual navigation, wayfinding, and facilitating communication for Spanish-speaking patients. Additionally, Carolina Conexiones provides navigators with the opportunity to experience the health care field first hand. The program improves not only Spanish-speaking families’ experience but also the Navigators’ bilingual skills, enthusiasm for the health care field, and their awareness of barriers to quality care.
