Carlton Power Group is an independent, UK based energy development company formed in 1995, headquartered in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. We have an excellent track record of developing energy projects in the UK and Europe, resulting in 2200MW / 8% of the UK gas fired CCGT’s projects to date. Our legacy are high efficiency Combined Cycle Gas Turbines that have displaced coal fired generation, but we continue to evolve, further refining our strategy to focus upon energy developments that support the transition to a net zero – PV solar, Li-ion and CRYO batteries and green hydrogen production. As an integrated developer, owner and operator of low carbon generating assets, we are uniquely placed with our multi-disciplinary, experienced team to consider all aspects of energy development – planning, permitting, procurement, financing, construction and operation. The UK continues to strive towards a low carbon economy, with ambitious net zero targets to meet. We want to support this transition by continuing to provide renewable and low-carbon energy infrastructure, while maintaining safe supply and grid support to the electricity network. Along with our current solar parks, we are developing multiple green hydrogen projects in the UK. Due to the intermittency of traditional renewable power, it is not viable to solely rely on. Green hydrogen provides a solution to this by enabling renewable generated electricity to be stored and distributed when required to sectors that are otherwise difficult to decarbonise. The green electricity powers an electrolyser, which splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. The process is 100% renewable with zero harmful emissions. With increased renewables and assets which cannot respond to demand fluctuations, the grid network can often see imbalance in the system. To support this imbalance, Carlton are also committed to developing battery storage and other flexible generation assets to support National Grid.
