1.CITET ESTABLISHMENT
The Tunis International Centre of Environmental Technology (CITET) is a public and non administrative institution (EPNA). It is placed under the Authority of the ministry of environment and sustainable development.
CITET was created in 1996 by the law n° 96-25 of 25 March 1996. Its organization and financing were defined by decry N° 97-2542 of 29 December 1997.
CITET was created following the international recommendations of the Agenda 21, issued from the United Nations conference on the Environment and Development (CNUED, Rio de Janeiro 1992). And the United Nations sustainable development commission.
2.Mission
The main mission of CITET is resumed as the following:
-Training and capacity building of technicians and Experts in the field of Environment.
-Transfer and innovation of environmental technologies.
-Assistance to the enterprise.
-Implementation of environmental technical studies.
-Promotion of International Cooperation in its domains of qualification.
-Information and documentation. Related to the field of environment.
The vocation of the centre is not limited to the Tunisian needs, but it is extended to the Arabo-African countries and the Mediterranean region.
The CITET is certified ISO 14001, ISO 9001, Accredited ISO 17025 and honored by IAIA as a reference centre for training in the field of Environment, in Tunisia, in Africa, the Arab and the Mediterranean Region.
