Area of service and mission statement. Boyne District Library, located at 201 Main St. in Boyne City, provides free services to all residents living within the library district, which includes the City of Boyne City, Bay Township, Evangeline Township and parts of Eveline and Wilson townships The library holds more than 35,000 materials including books, movies magazines, music CDs and audio books. Within the library's shared catalog, more than 400,000 items are available at eleven Northern Michigan library systems. In total, over 68,000 items were checked out of the system during fiscal year 2009-2010. In addition to these items, thousands of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet through the Library’s high speed connection, enjoy state-of-the-art Wi-fi service, or participate in or attend one of the Library’s many events.
