Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond is a moderate Baptist theological school, a learning community where servant leadership is central, and where women and men are encouraged and challenged in their ministerial callings. The seminary emphasizes spiritual formation, global engagement, and congregational focus to foster leadership for all forms of ministry in the 21st century. We offer the following degrees: Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.), Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Master in Christian Ministry (M.C.M.), and a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies. M.Div. students can earn in a concentration in Justice & Peacebuilding, Religious Freedom, Theology, Biblical Interpretation, Youth and Student Ministries, and Christian Education. We offer dual degree programs in Social Work, Patient Counseling, and Business Administration in conjunction with Virginia Commonwealth University and Averett University. We also have partnerships with Eastern Mennonite University and the Religious Freedom Center at the Newseum Institute. Our graduates go on to be congregational ministers, chaplains, counselors, non-profit leaders, educators, missionaries, and denominational partners, among other things. We are affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Baptist General Association of Virginia, and Alliance of Baptists and are fully accredited through The Association of Theological Schools.
