The Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS) is a private, fee-paying school, non-profit organization. It is a coeducational day school, and prepares its students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Certificates as school leaving qualifications.
ABS was one of the first Schools in the world to attain IB Accreditation, as it acquired IB Diploma accreditation in 1986, and one of only a select few world-wide to offer all four International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes: IB PYP, IB MYP; IBDP and IBCP.
The school was established in 1981 by the Hashemite Society for Education. Student enrolment is currently around 1,170 students, with over 300 teaching and ancillary staff. Fourteen nationalities are represented amongst our student population, 10 in our staff.
ABS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). It is also a global member of the Round Square Conference of Schools. The school is also officially accredited by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) as an official Athlete Friendly Accreditation Centre.
